Human Resources

The Human Resources Department is the center of human resources activities for Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners, administering the County's personnel system through the development and uniform application of all personnel policies and procedures. Human Resources provides recruitment and testing services, training, employee relations assistance, records management, and administration of the County's classification and compensation plan. The Human Resources Department also oversees the County's Affirmative Action Program and ensures equal opportunities are afforded to all applicants and employees regardless of actual or perceived race, national origin, color, religion, sex, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, age, marital status, political affiliation, or protected activity.

The mission of the Human Resources Department is to provide outstanding customer service to citizens and employees of Okaloosa County while developing programs, policies and procedures that:

  • enhance organizational effectiveness,
  • ensure quality recruitment, retention, training and development of employees, and,
  • provide practical, effective solutions to workplace challenges.
