Crisis Awareness and Referral in Emergencies (C.A.R.E.) Team

ps_ems_2.jpgIn a time of crisis, there is a need for people who are victims of a flood, tornado or hurricane to be given referrals or information regarding who to contact in the event of home and property loss. For this purpose, our staff members have developed a specialty team known as the C.A.R.E. Team (Crisis Awareness and Referral in Emergencies).

Following a disaster, the team makes a trip within 24 hours to the affected area and a second trip the following week for follow-up. If the team identifies persons who are not coping in a healthy and constructive manner, they are able to refer them to mental health specialists.
