Litter Control - Adopt-A-Road/Dune Program |

The Environmental Council sponsors roadside litter cleanup efforts. Organizations may adopt a two-mile rural or one-mile urban segment of county road by agreeing to remove litter alongside their adopted area a minimum of four times yearly. In addition to roadside cleanups, organizations may adopt the beach and dunes surrounding an Okaloosa Island beach park by agreeing to clean the area at least three times yearly.
Participants in both programs are recognized with on-site signs. Currently, different military organizations, civic groups, and businesses participate in the Adopt-A-Road and Adopt-A-Dune programs.
