Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) is a federal initiative whose primary objective is to deploy in the event of a disaster to various parts of the nation and to provide medical assistance to those who are in need. This team undergoes regular training, exercise deployments, and actual deployments. They must maintain a "ready to go" status for rapid deployment to any location by air or ground transport. |
