Applications Division is the link between the business requirements and technology solutions for application system needs. Our team assists with technology planning, evaluation, selection, implementation, and maintenance. We also partner with all of the other IS units to deliver complete technology solutions.
Our mission is to serve our end users with continually improved, efficient, cost effective technology and telecommunications products, services and information so that our customers are totally satisfied and able to properly fulfill their respective missions.
- Maintenance of the County's web page is another function of the Applications Division. There are over 400 web pages constantly being updated. We are in the process of developing .net applications for the web.
- Applications Division provides voice and non-emergency telecommunications planning, installation and support services. User setup, training will be provided for Voice over IP.
- We use a Dell computer with Microsoft Sequel Server to run OTG imaging software called Application Extender. There are five departments using this software which allows them to save images and access them from any computer hooked to the county-wide network. It also allows them to print, fax, or email these images. It does take time to scan and index these documents, but the cost savings for retrieval and storage make it well worth the effort.
- And for systems analysis, applications development and maintenance for County Departments utilizing the IBM Iseries. This consists of Public Works, Facility Maintenance, Human Resources and Risk Management.
- Training is provided for different software applications utilized by all county departments. Professional trainers are brought in to teach about Microsoft products. We teach classes on in-house products, vendor provided software, and individual training is provided in some cases.
The Information Systems Department is composed of three Divisions: Systems and Networks, Applications and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Please access each section for more information about each division, its services and staff.
