The Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners is committed to promoting public involvement and participation in the growth management and planning process to the maximum extent practicable. The Department of Growth Management is currently in the process of revising Chapter 2 of the Land Development Regulations which includes the County’s zoning regulations and requirements. A draft version of the revised zoning regulations and zoning maps has been prepared by the Department and is available for public inspection and comment. The Board of County Commissioners strongly encourages and solicits public input regarding the revised zoning as presented at this site. ALL INTERESTED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO PROVIDE VERBAL OR WRITTEN COMMENTS REGARDING THE PROPOSED CHANGES. Comments may be provided by:

PUBLIC MEETINGS

The Department has scheduled public meetings to solicit comments regarding the proposed zoning changes. Two meetings have been scheduled initially, however, other meetings may be held as considered necessary.

There are two ways to find your proposed zoning.

First, you can use our interactive GIS web application. Click Proposed Zoning Website There you will find a tutorial to guide you to find your proposed zoning.

Or, secondly, you can follow the instructions below:

Zoning maps for unincorporated Okaloosa County have been substantially revised and re-formatted. The new format divides the county into “planning areas” by US Postal Service ZIP CODES. The new maps show both the future land use designation and the zoning district for purposes of consistency and ease of use. Use the following steps to review the new zoning maps or to determine the zoning regulations for a particular property.

Step 1: Identify the planning area (ZIP CODE) where the property is located and click on the applicable planning area to view proposed zoning maps. To determine the zoning regulations for a particular property, click here for an interactive map that will allow viewing the proposed zoning on a parcel-by-parcel basis.

Step 2: When the zoning district has been identified click on ZONING REGULATIONS SUMMARY to determine the regulations (i.e. permitted uses, setbacks, units per acre, height, etc.) that pertain to a particular zoning district.
