Department of Corrections
to Serve and Protect

The Okaloosa County Department of Corrections will serve and protect the citizens of the community by providing for the care, custody and control of detainees. This will be accomplished as established by state and federal standards, in a cost-effective manner, through the development of secure, humane detention facilities and community programs.

To ensure professionalism, integrity, teamwork and staff development, the Department will provide training and educational opportunities supportive of these objectives. The Department will continually pursue opportunities to ensure progressive organizational development and will utilize management systems that clearly define individual responsibilities.

This mission will be accomplished through the development and maintenance of partnerships encompassing the community, employees and offenders. These partnerships will ensure the most cost-effective utilization of resources.
